Hi! My name is Claire Potter and I am a 3rd year level 10 gymnast at Trussville Academy of Gymnastics in Alabama. My goal is to compete for a Division I college. While I have always enjoyed all-around, due to past injuries, I am hoping to be a specialist in bars and beam.  I do currently still train all four events and I am making progress as I continue to grow stronger and confident once again.  I know the work it takes to comeback from a surgery and I have continued to put forth all my efforts.  My coaches, physical therapists and teammates describe me as out-going, hard working, motivated and determined.

I was homeschooled from 5th-8th grades and trained 24 hours a week when I was pursuing the elite path.  I am a junior at Vestavia Hills High School and will graduate in May of 2027.  I am a member of the Junior High National Honor Society and my current GPA is 3.8  I am currently taking all Honors and AP courses again this year. I participate in a number of clubs at my school, including Paws and Claws club, Spirit Club, RISE, Varsity Basketball Cheerleader and Rebel UP.  I am most proud of my work with Rebel Up which is a program designed to help students with disabilities feel included.  I am a “Big Sis” at my gym’s Big Sister/Little Sister mentoring program. This program helps bridge the gap between young and beginner gymnasts with the older and higher level gymnasts.

Outside of gymnastics, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, especially at the lake. I enjoy climbing, jumping and flipping off the cliffs of Smith Lake. I also enjoy tubing, wake boarding and surfing. Friends and teachers outside of gymnastics describe me as funny, smart, happy, and ambitious.  While I currently am undecided on a major in college, I am considering interior design, business investments or physical therapy.
